Linda Picken

Linda lives on the edge of the Arkansas Ozarks with rolling pastures and dense woods where she finds inspiration for her paintings from the many animals that call her acreage home.  Her husband and biggest supporter, Neal traveled to art shows around the country for 30 years before they retired.

Being city people who moved to the country, they and their two daughters collected a large variety of pets ranging from several labs, a Maltese, and stray dogs and cats, to horses, peacocks, Canada Geese, various breeds of chickens, ducks and rabbits.  They feed a collection of wild animals including mama coon and her family, Stubby the groundhog, Bobwhite Quail and many deer.  The love of these animals is obvious in her art.

Many of Linda’s paintings and prints have helped conservation organizations like Ducks Unlimited and Quail Unlimited.  The US Air Force Association selected her painting “Majesty”, for their 35th anniversary collector print.  Her work has graced over 3 dozen magazine and catalog covers.

She currently licenses her images on a large variety of products including collector plates with Hamilton, Lenox, and Bradford, popcorn tins, Picken’s Pedigrees brand of weaving, (including over 40 breeds of dogs and a cat collection.), wall paper, wooden boxes, pet food labels including Ol’Roy for Walmart, Zippo lighters, Personal Creations internet and catalog sales (over 85 dog breeds), mailbox covers, checks, coasters, clocks, needlecraft, collector steins, greeting cards, puzzles, apparel and kitchen and bath products.
